ASTROBIO™ K40, SR and S100 are bio-based solvent blends developed in Italy since 2006 as alternatives to petroleum-based hydrocarbon solvents such as dearomatised paraffins, kerosene and white spirit.
Choice
One grade for each paraffin
K40 replaces D40, SR replaces D60 and S100 replaces D100. Pick the grade of the paraffin you use today, then test it against your current recipe.

They are two names for petroleum-based hydrocarbon solvents used as paint thinners and cleaners: white spirit is the name used in the UK and Europe, mineral spirits in the US. The exact product depends on the supplier, so read the safety data sheet of the one you use, then tell us your application and we suggest the grade to test.

Yes. ASTROBIO™ SR and S100 are used as cleaners for industrial residues and soils and for cold degreasing, for example in synthesis reactors, and K40 for cold degreasing to remove different kinds of resins and soils. All three formulate machinery and industrial detergents.
On our site SR and S100 are listed among the ASTROBIO™ NV grades, completely hydroxyl free and compatible with systems containing reactive -NCO groups. For K40 in isocyanate systems, ask our chemists which grade to test.
