ASTROBIO™ AC is pure ethyl acetate: ethyl ester of natural acetic acid (CAS no: 141-78-6), miscible in many organic solvents. It has a low boiling point, fast evaporation rate and great solvency power. ASTROBIO™ AC is currently used as a solvent for manufacturing coatings, paints, rubbers, adhesives, fibers, detergents, paint strippers and personal care products. Valid alternative to many fossil solvents in the formulation of coatings, lacquers, paints, varnishes and inks based on acrylics, alkyds, melamines, urethanes, ABS, SBC and SBR resins, rosins, pyolites, celluloses, nitrocelluloses and polylactic acids. ASTROBIO™ AC is also used for the production of bio-based nail polish removers and nail polishes in the cosmetic industry.

Sustainable and bio-based solvent blends ideal for urethane coating formulations. ASTROBIO™ NV grades are completely hydroxyl free specialties so they are compatible with systems containing reactive -NCO groups. They are used to formulate coatings, adhesives, paints and inks based on acrylics, epoxies, alkydics, vinylics, polyesters, melamines, urethanes, phenolics, MDI and ABS resins. They have great solvency power for wood rosins, modified rosins, nitrocellulose, modified cellulose, some chlorinated polymers and nylons as well. ASTROBIO™ NV grades are also a great choice for formulating bio-based and sustainable paint strippers, PU cleaners, machinery and industrial detergents.
