What we do
Several common industrial solvents are now restricted under the European REACH regulation, and buyers ask for products with a better label and a lower fossil content.
Our work is simple to describe: for each petrochemical solvent you want to leave behind, we point you to the ASTROBIO™ grade designed to do the same job, and we send a sample so you can test it in your own process.
Customer stories
ASTROBIO™ AP instead of NMP
Several customers use ASTROBIO™ AP to remove saturated and unsaturated polyester residues from industrial plants after polymerisation. Its high solvency towards these polyesters lets them use less solvent and better protect their workers.
ASTROBIO™ SR instead of D60
European customers use ASTROBIO™ SR instead of dearomatised paraffins (D60) to dilute lubricant bases. The final product gets a better label, a better ecotoxicological profile and a higher bio-based content, above all when the base also comes from renewable sources.
ASTROBIO™ XT instead of xylene
Several European paint and coatings producers use ASTROBIO™ XT instead of xylene, with excellent results in intumescent paints. They improve working conditions and the labelling of their formulations while meeting local and European obligations.
